Hello Meeting Point friends! Today we are taking you to eat at Krua Kai Tong, a made-to-order Thai jungle-food restaurant in Bang Len, Song Phi Nong district, Suphanburi.

If you live in Suphanburi or are passing through and looking for tasty food, made-to-order dishes or jungle-style cooking, this is the place. Krua Kai Tong has a huge menu: wild boar, free-range chicken, catfish, eel, snakehead fish, frog, barking deer, sea bass, red tilapia and much more.

If you love jungle-style food, we have to tell you: don't miss it. The flavours are bold, spicy and seriously satisfying. We ordered a whole range of dishes today, so let's take a look.

Crispy red tilapia with spicy herb salad

At a jungle-food restaurant you have to order fish, so our first dish was red tilapia topped with a garden herb salad. The fish is big and crispy, and the dressing poured over it is sour, sweet and spicy, all at full strength. Eat it with the fresh vegetables and you get even more of that rich, punchy dressing.

Fish cakes

The fish cakes work both as a snack and as part of the meal, and they are delicious. The flavour is rich, the pieces are big and fried just soft enough. If you like the traditional taste, we suggest eating them without the dipping sauce.

Sour curry with shrimp and cha-om omelette

When we ordered this, we didn't expect so much: thick pieces of cha-om omelette packed into the sour curry and big, bouncy shrimp. The flavour is very rich. This jungle-food place also has really fresh seafood.

Snakehead fish tom yum

Another dish everyone orders at a jungle-food restaurant. I love fish anyway, and I have to say Krua Kai Tong's snakehead fish tom yum has a rich broth, firm fish and a lovely aroma from the dried chillies sprinkled on top. Best of all, there is plenty of fish, and it comes in a big bowl.

Fried shrimp

Since the seafood here is so fresh, we added fried shrimp. Big, fresh shrimp, crispy outside, tender and bouncy inside, covered in a juicy tamarind sauce that is perfectly sweet and sour. The seafood at Krua Kai Tong really is very fresh.

Salt-and-chilli shrimp

Because the seafood is as fresh as the jungle food, we had to order salt-and-chilli stir-fried shrimp as well. Bouncy shrimp, crispy outside and tender inside, with plenty of chilli and ginger flavour.

There is a huge choice of jungle-style dishes at Krua Kai Tong, from frog and wild boar to snakehead and other fish. But the one you really can't miss is the red tilapia with herb salad: fresh, sweet fish fried until crispy with a fiery dressing. The jungle dishes here are fairly spicy, but not extremely hot, so even if you don't usually eat spicy food you should be fine.
