The Food
With a name like Kaprao & Coffee, of course we tried the kaprao (holy basil stir-fry). And yes, it's delicious and spot on. Here's what Meeting Point ate today.
Beef kaprao and minced pork kaprao. Tasty, with a strong holy basil aroma, fiery and full-flavored. We had them with chicken tom yum, sipping the hot soup in between. Lovely. On top of the great food, there's a beautiful view and setting all around, which made our meal even more special.
The Cosmos Flower Field
If you love taking photos, you won't be disappointed here. There are two seating zones: outdoors or in the air-conditioned room. The big highlight is the flower field, which is a big part of why so many people want to come. It's a field of cosmos flowers, known in Thai as dok dao krajai. Entry to the flower garden is 20 baht per person, paid into a box at the garden entrance. You can grab a table first and then go for a stroll and take photos. You'll see a wooden boardwalk stretching out across the field and looping back to the cafe, so you can walk comfortably and keep snapping pictures.
Tips for Great Photos
- The cosmos bloom in waves: from New Year to early February, mid-April to May, and September to mid-October. Come during these periods for the best shots.
- It gets busy by late morning, so we recommend arriving early.
- Pick a clear, bright, sunny day for the best photos. It'll be a bit hot, but on gloomy days your photos may not turn out how you'd like.
On the day we went, it looked like rain, so the colors were a bit dull. We edited the colors in Adobe Lightroom and used Instagram filters on some photos, choosing a film-camera style.
