Fried chicken, 3 pieces for 20 baht
We ordered six pieces of fried chicken wing tips. Nice small pieces, crispy outside, tender inside and a little salty. Tasty and well marinated.
Fruit papaya salad, 60 baht
Wow. It comes with big fresh prawns, plus apple, corn, dragon fruit, guava and pineapple, topped with crispy fish and peanuts. So rich and satisfying.
Tam Hong Hoen, 80 baht
Named after the shop, this is the signature dish, packed with chicken feet. Chicken feet with pla ra dressing is incredibly spicy and savoury. The shop also sells its Hong Hoen pla ra sauce separately at 35 baht a bottle, or 3 bottles for 100 baht. If you like it, take some home to make your own salads.
Grass jelly with fresh milk, 20 baht
A savoury meal isn't complete without something sweet, so we ordered grass jelly with fresh milk. Cool and refreshing, with firm, bouncy jelly and a lovely milky flavour.
