If you are in Ang Sila and getting hungry, Pa Mai's is the place we recommend. The sign out front promises fresh seafood at friendly prices. The restaurant is famous for queues because it is so busy; Krua Pa Mai Ang Sila branch 1 even jokes that waiting in line is normal here. What we ordered
Here is what we had today.

Garlic fried sea bass, 380 baht
Very crispy and served hot. The fish is tender with no fishy smell at all, fragrant with garlic. Eat it with the restaurant's chilli fish sauce. Excellent.

Salted egg squid, 180 baht
The squid is tender, firm and has no fishy smell, stir-fried with plenty of salted egg. It is rich, so eat it with hot steamed rice to balance it, or just snack on it. The restaurant is not stingy with the salted egg at all.

Angry Sea (Thale Phirot), 160 baht
We loved the name and ordered it partly because of that. It is packed with seafood, prawns, shellfish and squid, the whole sea in one bowl, in a rich, spicy tom yum broth. Sipping the hot soup is pure bliss.

Spicy fresh oyster salad, 150 baht
Big, fresh oysters with no fishy smell and a full-flavoured spicy dressing. Very more-ish and properly fiery.
Three-crispy salad (yam sam krob), 130 baht
We really liked this one. The dressing is rich and moreish and cuts through the other dishes nicely, or you can just snack on it, and it goes fast. It comes with fresh vegetables on the side.
All the other seafood is just as fresh and tasty, straight from the sea. You can park by the road in front of the restaurant. It is right by the sea with a lovely, relaxed atmosphere; come in the evening when it is cooler and enjoy the view.
The prices above are what we paid at the time of our visit and may have changed, as costs have been rising. The restaurant is clean, the service is good, the food is tasty and prices are friendly.
