"Kopi" is Malay for coffee, and a "hub" is a central gathering place, so KopiHub means a coffee house that brings all the good food together. The shop has been open for more than 8 years, and prices start at just 20 baht.

About KopiHub

KopiHub Bangsaen, also known simply as Bangsaen dim sum, is a Thai-style coffee shop in Bangsaen, roughly across from Burapha University. It is decorated in a cute, retro vintage Thai style and serves drinks, snacks and a huge choice of dim sum. Dim sum takes no more than 15 minutes, because the shop steams in batches. Our tip: if it is busy and you have to queue, order your dim sum while you wait, and it will be ready about the same time you get a table. Everything tastes great, both the dim sum and the drinks. The service is very good too, friendly and smiling. You have to try it.

Besides the food, the shop has a relaxed, eye-catching retro atmosphere. When you sit down, staff bring hot tea to your table for free, and you can ask for refills when you finish.

What we ate

Highlight: black-gold shrimp har gow

This is the shop's most premium dim sum, packed with shrimp and eaten with the house special dipping sauce. We couldn't stop eating, so we will definitely put on weight, but it is delicious. At first we wondered why it was black, but one bite and we were hooked. We ordered so much we can barely remember all the names, ha ha.

Fried items

The fried dishes are just as good. Importantly, everything is made fresh every day.

We ordered a lot today and finished it all, and we will say it again: delicious! Oh, and there is also kai kor, khai khrop (salted egg yolk) and grandma's southern Thai rice salad (khao yam). You have to order it. It is very hard to find, truly southern Thai, so give it a try.

If you get the chance to visit Chonburi, we recommend KopiHub. We are sure you won't be disappointed: tasty food, a relaxed atmosphere, a huge menu and prices that aren't too steep. Great value and you leave full.
