Kosirae: Thonglor's Legendary Korean BBQ Buffet 1

Kosirae is a legendary Korean BBQ buffet and one of the first in Thonglor. People love it because the price is great while the flavors are genuinely Korean, so it is easy to come back often. It is right in the city near the BTS, so getting there is easy whenever the craving hits.

Kosirae is one of many Korean restaurants run by actual Koreans. The owners are a Korean family who have lived in Thailand for more than 30 years. Beyond their family recipes for kimchi and Korean sauces, the Rae family clearly understands Thai tastes, which is why the restaurant suits Thai diners so well.

It is a buffet we really like: affordable Korean BBQ, excellent marinated pork, generous side dishes and the grill plate changed regularly.

The side dishes are plentiful and refillable: kimchi, papaya salad, spicy meatball salad, Korean pancake, blanched spinach, pickled radish, fish balls, fruit salad, boiled eggs, cabbage salad and fresh vegetables, plus chilies and garlic. The fruit salad is a highlight.

There are three dipping sauces, gochujang, a spicy Thai-style sauce and a Korean dipping sauce, all refillable, and they really lift the grilled pork.

For the pork, our favorites are the pork neck and the sauce-marinated pork.

We paid 329 THB per person for the pork and chicken buffet.

Groups of 2–4 get 1.5 hours.

Groups of 5 or more get 2 hours.

Drinking water is free with the buffet.

The fruit salad is good, though the cucumber felt a bit out of place.

The slightly sad part: you cannot do the buffet alone.

You need at least two people to open a grill.

* If you leave meat uneaten or burn too much of it, there is a 200 THB fine.

What people love here is the variety of side dishes and flavors that are worth more than you pay. Plenty of meat, plenty of sides and a full stomach at a very friendly price.

Getting there is easy: get off at BTS Thong Lo and walk a short way into the soi.
