When it comes to noodles, today we recommend Heng Chun Seng Sunthorn Kosa, stewed beef and pork noodles. The stewed beef is outstanding; you could call it number one around Rama 4. Let's see what we had.
If you pass through the Rama 4 area, you have probably heard of this delicious noodle shop. They serve both stewed beef and stewed pork, so if you do not eat pork, just order beef. It is every bit as good.

The beef noodles
Today we had beef noodles, and the beef is excellent: fresh beef, stewed beef and braised beef, all with no gamey smell, tender and melt-in-the-mouth, never chewy. The meatballs are very good too. The broth is simmered over charcoal, which is a real treat. Beef lovers must try it. The shank, ox tongue and tendon are all excellent; if you like offal, we recommend them. The rich broth really hits the spot.

What else to know
- Clear soup: very easy to drink because it is freshly made. Sipping it hot is the best. There is no overpowering Chinese-herb smell, just a fragrant, well-rounded flavour.
- Queue management: very good. The shop gets lots of orders and customers are always coming in, yet the wait is short.
- Parking: look for a spot in the soi. There are signs for parking at 20 baht per hour.
- Opening days: open every day, but it closes fairly early on Saturdays and Sundays. Call ahead before you go so you do not miss out.

Overall we were very impressed: good service, delicious food and fair prices. If you are passing this way, give it a try. Every dish lives up to its reputation; there was nothing we did not like.
