Today Meeting Point Thailand is introducing everyone to a fried chicken shop called Fah Kai Tod, which also sells fried pork neck. It's a street cart in the Talat Noi area on Charoen Krung Road, and it's delicious from the very first bite.

Fah Fried Chicken: Talat Noi's Legendary Crispy Fried Chicken 2

Fah Kai Tod has been selling for a very long time, for decades now. The secret is the batter, which stays crispy for ages, with soft, tender chicken that's a little salty and fragrant. Very addictive. The fried pork is also excellent, crisp outside and juicy inside, unlike anywhere else.

The dipping sauces are just as good: a sweet chili sauce for chicken and a jaew sauce. Personally, I love the jaew. The shop's version has it all, sour, spicy and sweet, with a strong aroma of toasted rice. Fantastic.

A little story about Charoen Krung Road

Before we go, here's a little bit of history about Charoen Krung Road. The road has a long story dating back to the early Rattanakosin period. This stretch along the Chao Phraya River near Charoen Krung was once a trading port, where junks moored to unload goods into Bangkok. It was a hub for trade and exchange with other countries, and people from many nations have always come and gone here. Later, during the reign of King Rama IV, the country's first road was built here and named Charoen Krung, to serve as an important route. There was even a tram running along this road.

This old road also hides many more secret, delicious spots. Follow Meeting Point Thailand, and next time we'll take you to another tasty place or share something else worth recommending.
